From List you start to the northernmost point of Germany.

There's a lot going on in List. The adventure center is perfect as a sight when it rains, especially for children. Here you can feel the forces of nature firsthand and learn more about the origins of the island. The old Listland road was once the main road to List. There is now a shorter expressway. But coming from Westerland, you can reach the elbow faster via the old road. You also get what we think is the most beautiful view of the shifting dunes if you stop at one of the bays along the road. You can also get to the western beach of List here. The beach stretches 40 km along the west coast of Sylt. With luck you can watch the small porpoises in the water here. The chances are best when the sea is calm and the water is high (i.e. high tide). By the way, on the west beach you will find the west beach hall in the List dunes. There you will find one of the traditional restaurants on the island: Wonnemeyer. Three of the last shifting dunes in Germany are near List! For me, they are among the most beautiful corners of Sylt. It might look unspectacular to you. The area around the dunes has been a nature reserve since 1923. That's why the area is cordoned off. You can only enter this area with a special permit. The largest dune moves eastwards at an average of 10 meters per year. To prevent this, the dune has now been partially planted. Especially in summer you have to get up early to watch the sun rise over the sea. Enjoy the first rays of sunshine and, above all, the peace and quiet. There are a total of five lighthouses on Sylt. Two of them stand at the elbow.

Due to the traffic during the season, it is not recommended for a classic town sign sprint. There are better places on the island. Here, enjoyment should be the main focus, so we recommend using the fantastic cycle path.
