The "Old House", built in 1586, is one of the most famous medieval half-timbered houses on the Rhine, dating back to 1368, according to the inscription on the house.
While the majority of the old town houses were destroyed by a series of heavy city fires at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the "Old House" preserved in almost all parts the rich character of the Rhenish half-timbered. It has four gables, corner towers and rococo doors.
