The village Kagbeni is located in the Kali Gandaki Valley at an altitude of 2,804 m at the confluence of the tributary Jhong Khola coming from Muktinath. Kagbeni is the only gateway to upper Mustang and is known as one of the oldest villages in the Himalayas.
