Today's church of St. Blasius in Deggenhausen was built around 1890 after the old church was demolished.

A church was probably built here under the rule of von Deggenhausen, the foundation of which still serves as a substructure for the church today. In 1399 the ruling nobility handed over the church to the monastery of Betenbrunn.

Under the rule of the Counts of Heiligenberg, a new church was built on this site, the baroque tower is from that time. At that time, the church was probably part of a castle complex or a defense instance itself, as indicated by the surrounding church wall.

It is first mentioned in 1564 and was already dedicated to Saint Blaise at that time. The coat of arms of the municipality, which shows two crossed blades in the form of scissors, probably goes back to this veneration. Blasius is depicted with crossed candles, which is explained in the article about St. Blasius Church in Ehingen.

In 1736 the construction work on the St. Blasius Church in Deggenhausen was completed. In 1880 the nave was demolished and rebuilt within three years. In the style of the 19th century the church was renovated in neo-gothic style and the interior is also in neo-gothic style.

The chancel is particularly eye-catching with its neo-Gothic altar and artistic side altars.
