Mount Portule ('Pòrtel' in Cimbrian or 'Kempel' in German) is a long, massive ridge stretching toward the Valsugana Valley: its elongated, austere, barren, and sharp profile is unmistakable and easily recognizable even from very distant peaks. At 2,308 meters, it is the third highest peak on the Asiago Plateau, after Cima XII and Monte Trentin. Thanks to its height, position, and shape, the 360° panorama from the summit is breathtaking: to the north, the Valsugana Valley, the Lagorai mountains, and the Dolomites; to the east, the Vicenza Prealps, Folgaria, and Becco di Filadonna; to the south, the entire Asiago Plateau; on clear days, you can even see the Venice Lagoon. On the western side, a steep and strenuous trail climbs rapidly from Cima Larici; To the south, a picturesque trail, known as the 'Filon,' runs along the long ridge to Bocchetta Portule.

Owing to its dominant and central position, it was a contested peak during the Great War: initially in Italian hands, it was conquered by the Austro-Hungarians with the Strafexpedition of May 1916. The remains of three cableways are visible on the summit; at Bocchetta Portule, a gun emplacement is located in a cave to block passage from the Val d'Assa.

The most exiting uphill ever in the area. Super panorama! You can ski down if you have a good clime. Ask locals

getting to the top is very difficult and there is a good difference in height, for the descent I do not recommend the direct route because it is very steep!
