The five meter wide, asphalted cycle and leisure path “Speedway:terra nova” is part of the circuit. It stretches dead straight and without intersections for 14 kilometers through a green biosphere band and ends at Forum :terra nova. The former overburden belt route between the former Bergheim opencast mine and the Hambach opencast mine is now ideal for cyclists and inline skaters.

The conversion of the former conveyor line between the Hambach opencast mine and the former Bergheim/Fortuna opencast mine into a speedway had the advantage for RWE that the intervention in nature did not have to be costly reversed, but rather in a very inexpensive way (declared as a leisure activity) of it came.
For the population and here especially for cyclists and inline skaters, it has the advantage that you can ride over a very long distance on a "still" good surface with almost no crossings.

However, the speedway is much longer than marked on the map below.
