The disused railway line between Ocholt and Westerstede (formerly part of the line to Bockhorn) was closed to passenger traffic on May 23, 1954, as the railway cycle route report shows. Today, the route is partially used for tourist railbike operations, which have been running since May 6, 2006, explains this railway cycle route report.
