It is said to be 226 years old and has been owned by the Schmidt family for six generations. In 1985 the mill was acquired by the city of Brehna and restored in 86.
In 1999 all the wings were removed due to rotten wood, and since 2010 they have all been freshly installed again.
The mill cannot yet be viewed inside.
