Gatehouse Trappstadt

The renovated gatehouse is, along with the church, a landmark of the village.

The cycle path leads directly through the gatehouse in the direction of the Gleichberge.

Gatehouses of the same type can be found, for example, in Großeibstadt near Bad Königshofen, in Milz or in Gabolshausen in front of Bad Königshofen.
Sometimes they were part of the city wall or city fortifications. Gatehouses at castle and city gates stood next to gates, or the gate was integrated into the gatehouse.
