Nice steady climb that winds its way up for the scenery. Nowhere really steep, but because of its length spicy enough. Recommended!

Why up the Theodorschacht? First, I mentioned that Ibbenbüren was a mining region for centuries! When you're halfway up the climb, you could take a short, steep climb to the right. Then, following the reclaimed road to the next bend, you'll find a now-vacant lot where, until about 1.5 years ago, one of two ventilation shafts (air shafts from the Ibbenbüren mining industry) would have been located. But the ventilation shaft, including the outbuildings, is no longer there. I'm from the immediate area, and to this day, we call this section "up the Theodorschacht." The fact is, the asphalt has suffered a lot, but for an "uphill ride" on a racing bike, the road surface is still perfectly fine. What awaits you is an idyllic and quiet climb up to the Schafberg ridge (yes, that's really its name). After you've completed about half of the climb, you'll find a very good road surface, still tightly embedded in the forest. Just give it a try.
