Location: The place Monemvasia is on the seaward south-east side of a rock about 194 meters high[2] and 1.8 km long. The settlement consists of two parts: the walled medieval lower town on the slope of the cliff and the citadel on the top of the cliff, which can only be reached via a single path, often winding, steep and well secured.
