Lying in the lee of mysterious Mam Tor, Castleton is one of the most beautifully-situated villages in the White Peak. With cafes, tearooms, pubs, restaurants, a visitor centre, and lots of attractions nearby (including caves and castles) it is a must-see on any trip.

Brilliant village to stop in for a few hours if you are driving, hiking, biking etc near here, plenty of cafes etc to top up the fluids.

Great place to grab some sustenance half way around the walk

Lovely village with a great selection of pubs and tea rooms. I recommend a Tilley’s for breakfast or tea, and The Castle or Bull for meals.

Lovely village with an interesting Church.
Peveril Castle peers down from the hillside above.
