The Protestant church or Oude Lambertuskerk in Engelen (municipality of 's-Hertogenbosch) is a remnant of a 15th-century late Gothic cruciform church that was built on the site of a tufa Romanesque church. The late Gothic church was destroyed in 1587 by acts of war during the Eighty Years' War.Since Engelen belonged to the County of Holland, the reformed religion quickly gained a following. As early as July 21, 1566, Cornelis van Diest delivered a hedge sermon. The Reformed restored the presbytery of the ruined church and converted it into their own church. In 1641 it had its own pastor. This has remained so and today it is a PKN church. There is a church service every Sunday at 10.30am. Until 2016, services of the collaborating Remonstrants and Mennonites were also held in the building. The church has a Gothic gravestone for Brother Thomas de Borheij.
