To say that the Ermita de los Monjes ruins is a highlight sounds almost like a joke, but the hike up here is fantastic. It's a great excursion; those who enjoy hiking and are in Marbella should do it.
From here there are other paths that lead back or go into the mountains. Locals hike here every day, so you'll always meet someone.
Along the entire path you walk along the stream under the trees, which is very pleasant, especially in summer.
However, from February to April you have to be careful with the processionary, especially with dogs. Their nests in pine trees can be recognized fairly quickly and are extremely dangerous, especially to dogs (even deadly).
