Describing the small ruins of the Ermita de los Monjes as a highlight sounds almost like a joke, but the hike there is fantastic! A great tour that anyone who likes to hike and visit Marbella should definitely go for.
From here, many other paths lead either back or further into the Sierra. Locals hike here daily, so it is not crowded, but you always meet someone.
All along the way you move along the stream under trees, which is very pleasant in summer.
From February to April, watch out for the procession caterpillar, especially with dogs. One recognizes their nests quite quickly in the Pinos and on the ground it is extremely unpleasant, especially for dogs (even deadly)
