The Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación is considered one of the most important churches built in Spain in the last few centuries. It rises in the old town of Marbella, in the immediate vicinity of the former Hospital Bazan.

The canonical erection of the church dates back to 1505, the building in its present form was built at the beginning of the 18th century. The church presents itself as a basilica in rococo and baroque style.

A procession takes place every year at Easter. Numerous men carry the statue of Mary on a throne through Marbella.
