Cycling
A Slavic castle wall from the 8th-10th centuries. Century, popularly known as the “Schwedenschanze”, is located in the town of Buckow. The church and cemetery have been located within the former ramparts since the 13th century. During the Thirty Years' War, the wall around the church served as protection for the villagers from the Swedes, hence the name "Swedish Redoubt." At the time of the Wars of Liberation in 1813, the farmers fortified themselves here against Napoleon's French troops. The old church was demolished in 1732 due to dilapidation and in 1737 the current church was rebuilt using old materials.
