On September 28, 1896, the Bodenheim-Alzey railway line was opened. In addition to eight other communities, Hahnheim also got its own railway station with a station building. For the station officials, the brick building was not only a place of work, but also a place of residence, because an apartment was set up especially for them on the upper floor. The first accident occurred on October 3, 1896, when two goods wagons rolled down the gradient from Gau-Bischofsheim to Bodenheim. However, there was only material damage to a car parked there.
Today the building houses the much-praised Oliver Förster wood-fired bakery.
