The simple wooden bridge over the Stadtwaldsee was built in 2006 according to a plan by Hoßfeld and Martens as a replacement for the nameless, dilapidated bridge there. The building was donated to the park by the "Karin and Uwe Hollweg Foundation" in memory of Fritz Hollweg's father.
