Berceto, "the mountain town closest to the sea" according to those who live here, is home to this cathedral which dates back to the late medieval era. The name derives from a French bishop who lived more than 1,300 years ago and passed through here on his way to Rome.

Il Duomo di Berceto, also known as the Duomo di San Moderanno, is an important Catholic church with Romanesque forms located in Berceto, in the province and diocese of Parma. The church has a Romanesque structure with three nave apses. The 19th century restoration also resulted in the reconstruction of the sandstone facade, which however retains the rich 12th century portal with lunette and relief architrave. From the third chapel on the right you can access the treasure of the Duomo, which preserves precious furniture and liturgical objects of different eras: standards, lanterns, crucifixes, devotional value statutes, reliquaries, wooden statues, chalices, Lombard stone fragments, bells, crosses, altar ornaments from the 1920s, three graduali from the 18th-19th centuries.
