Between the towns of Dohnsen and Siddernhausen are the remains of a megalithic structure from the Neolithic period.
A lovely rest stop at a historic site with a beautiful view over the fields.

The Siddernhausen megalithic tomb is a significant relic of the Neolithic period and the Funnel Beaker culture. The chamber, originally approximately 16 meters long, consisted of 20 to 24 supporting stones and several capstones. It was probably covered by an earthen embankment and served as a communal burial site for generations. After its destruction in the 17th or 18th century, the complex was excavated in 1977 and rebuilt at its current location. Today, the reconstructed megalithic tomb vividly illustrates the construction methods of megalithic structures and is a worthwhile destination for cyclists interested in archaeology, history, and the healing landscape of the Southern Heath.
