Construction of the school building began in 1925. When it was completed in 1927, it was considered one of the most modern and beautiful school buildings in all of West Germany.

Today the building belongs to the Wittringer School (primary school). In 2012, the Aloysius School was merged with the neighboring Luther School to form this school.

The building has been a listed building since 1984.
