The Olympic Port (in Catalan, Port Olímpic) of Barcelona is a sports port that is located in front of the Olympic Village, between the Barceloneta and Nova Icària beaches, in the San Martín district. It is managed by the municipal company Barcelona de Serveis Municipals (BSM) commissioned by Barcelona City Council.
It was built under the design of the architects Oriol Bohigas, Josep Martorell, David Mackay and Albert Puigdomènech and directed by the engineer Joan Ramon de Clascà in 1991 to provide the city with a marina at its height, following the regulations of the Generalitat to reconvert the north coast of the city in a residential and recreational area.
In 1992 it was the venue for the sailing competitions of the XXV Olympic Games.
Currently, apart from being a renowned marina on the Mediterranean coast, it has become a tourist and leisure center in the Catalan capital. During the day you can eat at any of the restaurants with seafood specialties and at night enjoy the wide and fun nightlife.
