A ferry has been sailing on the Old Rhine between Valkenburg and Rijnsburg for centuries.
The current ferry (popularly called “the Valkenburg ferry”) is a cable ferry with an electric motor.
On working days, the ferry is operated by employees of Provalu (merger of MareGroep and Servicepunt Werk).
On Sundays and other public holidays, the ferry is operated by volunteers.
A crossing costs € 0.50 per person (January 2022).
