Cwmdu is a lovely little village and a great base for adventures in the Brecon Beacons National Park, with the Central Beacons and the Black Mountains ranges both nearby. The village is home to both a pub, the Farmer's Arms, and the Mynydd Ddu Tea Rooms, as well as a community-run shop. The Beacons Way long-distance footpath passes through the village on its way from Crickhowell to Llangynidr.

The local pub in cwmdu is brilliant. It is so friendly and the food is great. Nice stop mid walk or just aim for it for a great meal.
