A stone cross and a boundary stone from 1580 can be found on the side of the road.
The stone cross has a longitudinal groove and a "shepherd's shovel" that is no longer clearly recognizable. It dates from the late 15th/early 16th century. A shepherd probably had an accident or was murdered here (accordingly, it would probably be an atonement cross).
The border stone from the year 1580 marks the current border to Altenbach, which used to be the border of the "Schriesheim Central Mend Forest".
A legend brings both stones together: a Protestant and a Catholic shepherd are said to have argued about the true faith here. Both injured each other and died. The Catholic shepherd is said to be buried under the stone cross, the Protestant under the boundary stone.
