Famous Montois: Malapert's moon – The project called “Famous Montois” was carried out by the students of the Arts2 drawing workshop who all chose a Mons personality to work on: Roland de Lassus, Charles Malapert, Marguerite de Constantinople, Salvatore Adamo and Marouane Fellaini. A list of 20 names which will be revealed gradually... The name Malapert designates three things today. It is above all the Mons researcher and mathematician Charles Malapert who, like Galileo at the same time, scrutinized and studied the sky. It is in her honor that her name was given to two places, firstly to this street crossing, a modest tribute paid to this astronomer. The second place is not terrestrial, it is a crater at the south pole of the moon topped by a mountain. So it is upside down and covered with a jet of gold, as if constantly bathed in the light of the sun, that this crater and this mountain illuminates us in return
