The Church of St. Marien is a foundling church that was built in the 13th century. Many churches of this kind no longer exist. For the construction, large boulders were cut to match and placed on top of each other. This type of construction created a very massive type of building. Apparently also a very stable one, because the Oythener church shines in its splendor even today.
