Tips

  • The pavilions of Haus Michael are currently closed off as corona quarantine stations. Here, according to the anthroposophical view of man, “people with different characteristics of the autism spectrum, as well as people who need holistic care, support and lifestyle due to their mental and/or emotional handicap” are cared for.

  • Haus Michael is a place to live with housing, a school and therapeutic workshops for people in need of soul care. People with different characteristics of the autism spectrum live here, as well as people who need holistic care, support and lifestyle due to their mental and/or emotional disabilities.
The conceptual model is the anthroposophical image of man, based on the spiritual science of Dr. Rudolf Steiner.
The facility was founded in 1973 as a school home for autistic children. The growing up of the children and young people who had found a home here made it necessary to expand it into a dormitory for adults and to create therapeutic jobs. Carpentry, hand weaving, clay and wood workshops as well as candle making were established. There is also individual and small group work in housekeeping, garden, forest and terrain.
In 1976, the farm "Hof Steinich" was acquired, which also serves as a work and adventure area for the protégés. The agricultural products in Demeter quality are used for self-sufficiency and are sold on Saturdays at the weekly market in Gerolstein.
At present, 24 people are cared for and supported in Haus Michael all year round. Source: hm-weissenseifen.de/web

  • In Haus Michael in Weißenseifen, people with severe forms of the autism spectrum disorder have been cared for and supported since 1973. The basis of the entire work is the anthroposophical view of man, as can also be found in Waldorf education.
