At the entrance to the estate on Gildehauser Straße, there was an ornamental gate until the Allied troops marched in in 1945. It was likely donated in 1906 by Heinrich Meier's father and father, Hermann Hagels, to commemorate the silver wedding anniversary of Heinrich Meier and his wife Engelina (née Hagels). Invading tanks destroyed the gate during the war. In 1978, Carl Wilhelm Elbers, a civil engineer married to Bertha Piesbergen, had the gate reconstructed on a forest path east of the Rüenberger House, using the original sandstone blocks and the old coat of arms.
