In the entrance area to the estate on Gildehauser Strasse, there was an ornamental gate until the Allied soldiers invaded in 1945, which was probably donated by father-in-law and father Hermann Hagels in 1906 on the occasion of the silver wedding anniversary of Commercial Councillor Heinrich Meier and his wife Engelina (née Hagels). Invading tanks destroyed the gate during the war. Dipl.-Ing. Carl Wilhelm Elbers, married to Bertha Piesbergen, had the gate rebuilt in 1978 on a forest path east of the Rüenberger House with the old coat of arms and from the old sandstone blocks.Source:
