The atonement stone and the wayside cross in Höchstberg are like two old friends who have stood at the same crossroads for centuries and tell stories from times long past. The atonement stone, a silent witness from the 15th/16th century, has seen and heard many things. It stands there as if it were keeping the secrets of the past, while the wayside cross from 1748 keeps it company.

At a crossroads about 200 meters south of the pilgrimage church "Unsere Liebe Frau vom Nußbaum" there is a cross of reconciliation next to a cross in the hallway.
The atonement cross dates from the 15th/16th. Century. Unfortunately, nothing more is known.
The corridor cross can be dated back to the year 1748 - a corresponding Roman date is hardly recognizable.
