If you turn off the L 209, you have the feeling to get into another time. Petersdorf is the second largest district of Fehmarn. Coming from the east, the old windmill Südermühle is on the left. Unfortunately, she is without wings and seems to become more and more degenerate. In the village itself you can still see the old structure and the area around the church and the village pond is worth seeing. The church tower is at 64 m the highest on Fehmarn and used to be a navigation aid.Info:

In Petersdorf, first documented in 1230, the structure of the old village center is still largely intact today. Built in the middle of the 13th century, the church of St. Johannis in the center of the village has the highest church tower on the island (64 meters high and visible from afar). And on the outskirts towards Lemkendorf the big Südermühle catches the eye, one of the three remaining on the island windmills (which, however, now lack the mill wings).

Petersdorf is a small nice place, but due to the almost cobblestone streets I would not necessarily call this place a bike highlight 😉
