The Prignitz Museum on Dom Havelberg is located in the upper monastery halls of the medieval cathedral and monastery complex. It has extensive collections on the history of cathedral building, prehistory and early history, sacred art, and regional and city history.
It is named after the Brandenburg landscape of Prignitz, whose first museum was founded in Havelberg in 1904.
Important collections come from this region. Further museum pieces were brought together from the Elb-Havel-Winkel - today Saxony-Anhalt - so that one can speak of a "museum of the region" in a transnational sense.
