The beautiful Jupiter giant column was only found in 1968 in Walheim, a Württemberg community north of Besigheim.
It now stands at Benningen town hall, right near the train station, instead of the remains of a ten meter high column that was found in 1971.

Hiking

Due to the many missing parts, the column could not be reconstructed. In order to preserve a souvenir of the Jupiter Giant Column, the municipality decided in 1981 to have a copy of the Jupiter Giant Column from Walheim made. This was installed west of the town hall. There are also a number of votive stones around the town hall.
