Founded in 1884, the company became the largest cotton mill in continental Europe within a quarter of a century. After its founding in 1884, a veritable factory town with more than 20 production buildings, workers' housing, kindergartens and a recreation estate grew up in the west of Leipzig. In 1907 the factory had reached its greatest extent. On around 100,000 m², cotton was processed with 240,000 spindles.
