In the middle of the old town center of Schlangen stands the Evangelical Reformed Church, which belongs to the Lippe regional church. The tower dates from the Romanesque period (13th century) and still has an old picture of St. Christopher, the nave was rebuilt in the 19th century.

Interesting construction history: archaeologically excavated predecessor, presumably from the 9th century (Carolingian), new construction around 1200 with a tower from the 1st half of the 13th century. Demolished down to the tower in 1878 and new construction of the nave.
