The 230-meter-long Small Viaduct, also called Dune Viaduct, spans the valley of the Dune at a height of 33 meters with 11 arches. Like his "big brother" about three kilometers to the east, the Altenbekener viaduct, he was built in the years 1851 to 1853 as part of the railway line Paderborn - Altenbeken - Warburg - Kassel. West of the viaduct is the observation deck built in 2014, which offers a great view of the viaduct and the Beketal.

The small viaduct is only the second most impressive part, but only because just six kilometers later, the double-sized brother, the Altenbekener Viadukt, stands. But even the 'little one' - 230 meters long, 33 meters high with 12 bows - is not so easy to place in a 35 mm camera.
