Isola is a small hamlet on the southwestern shore of Lake Sils in the Upper Engadine, located between Sils and Maloja. In winter, the cross-country ski trail runs across the frozen lake and is part of the Engadin trail network. The route is largely flat and also suitable for beginners.
The trails are regularly groomed. In windy conditions, the open lake surface can noticeably increase the effort or, thanks to a tailwind, provide a good boost. A beautiful place to briefly stop at the edge of the trail and enjoy the view.
