Unterstell Cable Car

Today's cable car was built in spring 2004.
The first material ropeway to the Unterstell-Hof was built in 1968 by Alois and Jolanda Götsch. The closed one-cabin lift was then led over 7 wooden supports and tourism began to flourish. That is why the decision was made in 1979 to build a new aerial tramway with 2 cabins and three times the transport capacity - the "Max & Moritzbahn", which guests later lovingly called the "Max & Moritzbahn". The cabins were led over 6 steel lattice supports. The hydraulic drive allowed a smooth and jolt-free ride.

The Unterstell cable car takes hikers and mountaineers from Naturns, district of Kompatsch, to Unterstell, the central starting point for long hikes on the Naturnser Sonnenberg and in the Texel Group Nature Park.The mountain station at 1300 m can be reached by cable car in less than 5 minutes. Cabin capacity: 25 people. Altitude difference: 750 m.
