The insect hotel is on the north edge of the housing estate in a clearing.

Things to know about wild bees:With a few exceptions (e.g. bumblebees), wild bees live solitarily, i.e. they do not form a colony.
Since they don't have to defend anyone as hermit bees, wild bees usually don't sting unless they feel threatened.
The wild bee spends most of its time hidden from us in a brood cell, in which it needs almost a whole year for its development.
After hatching, a Wildbierie lives just under four to six weeks. In this short time she collects pollen, nectar and nesting material, which she needs to fill the brood cells of her eggs.
