The Spektelake is a part of the Spektenilung, a vast wetland between Falkensee and Spandau. Just like the large Spektesee, the Spektelake was a gravel pond. For the growing city tons of sand were needed and mined at this point. In the meantime, everything has been renatured here and you cycle comfortably through the greenery.

The bridge was built in 1990 as a footbridge over the Spektelake and spans about 41 m. It is a massive beam bridge with nine single-span girders. The wood is oak.
When wet, it is sometimes very slippery, but otherwise it is easy to walk on and offers great views of the idyllic lake.
