The Alfeld town hall is well worth seeing and, in its current appearance - since 1586 - is a Weser Renaissance building. Traces of earlier Gothic construction stages can still be seen, such as a (remodeled) Gothic stepped gable in the west. The town hall is maintained by the Waltraud and Burghard Meyer Foundation: the Meyer couple, who have since died, cared so much about their hometown that they were involved in many projects, and with the town hall foundation they have contributed significantly to a continuous one contributed to the preservation of this historic building.

The Ratskeller is basically located in the basement area of the Alfeld town hall. In the "dry" season there are several outdoor spaces on the market square.
Mostly Italian cuisine is served.
