The Heinrich-Robert colliery was the last extracting hard coal mine in Hamm and later belonged to the Ost Verbundbergwerk. The Heinrich and Robert shafts were sunk in 1901, the Franz shaft in 1923.

The Heinrich-Robert colliery is a memorial from our region to our colliery culture. It can be seen well from a distance and is still an imposing building with a large plot of land. The Halde is also a very attractive place as a local recreation area and vantage point for pedestrians and mountain bikers. Really impressive.

When coal becomes culture: The Heinrich Robert Creative District is being built on the site where over 5,000 miners once worked, at the former Heinrich Robert mine.Investors, creative minds and businesses, as well as restaurant managers, are warmly welcome to work with strong partners to develop the site into an attractive area for the arts, culture, creative industries, services, and leisure industries.Everything that brings life to a neighborhood should find a home here: people of all generations, creative businesses and service providers, artists, restaurants and cafés, community spaces and green spaces. In addition, there will be cultural highlights, a wide variety of events, and leisure activities for all ages.We were there for the classic car meeting in April—great location!
