Anyone who walks along the remains of Blankenberg's city wall, some of which are still very powerful, will get an idea of what importance the now inconspicuous city of Blankenberg once had. A double wall ring equipped with gates and shell towers surrounded the entire area. And even today, southern access is only possible through the Eitorfer Tor.
