"Hochbrogg" Border Crossing Ruggell-Bangs (FL / AT)
Alta Spiersbach/Bangeserwesa Ruggell
The arched bridge, made of rubble stone, over the Spüels (Spiersbach) River at the Ruggell-Bangs border crossing (Schengen external border, FL / AT) lies centrally on the border between the Republic of Austria and the Principality of Liechtenstein. Natural stone bridges have been documented in our latitudes since the 15th century. This bridge is listed as "Spiers Bridge" on, among other things, the map of the Principality of Liechtenstein from 1756 by Lieutenant Colonel Kolleffel.

Beautifully designed border crossing. On a small bridge you cross the border between Liechtenstein and Austria. A historical sign reminds that one used to enter or leave the "Kaiserthum Austria" in earlier times.
This border crossing cannot be reached or crossed by car. It can be wonderfully integrated into a bike tour through northern Liechtenstein.
