Place "Preusseneck" in Eckwarderhörne - walked on the northeastern tip of the Jadebusen and marveled at the highlight of the Oberfeuer Preusseneck at low tide. It is a relic that was put into operation in 1962 as the top light of the Eckwarden leading light line and was decommissioned 50 years later. Since the Jade-Weser-Port was being built, the fairway and with it the leading light line had to be swiveled to the west. The Jappensand leading light line was created to replace it. The disused Upper Fire Preusseneck should be demolished. The citizens' initiative Leuchtfeuer Eckwarderhörne resisted the preservation of the lighthouse, which was listed in 2011, and then restored it with the establishment of a foundation for around 400,000 euros.
++ The striking top fire has been visible since 2017. Sat. and Sun. in summer,
++ incl. the museum with illuminated displays of the regional beacon lines and towers, as well as educational multimedia information about geology and coastal protection.
++ Above all, the 34 m high lighthouse reveals the nearby seal banks in the great Wadden Sea landscape at low tide, as the highest point in Butjadden, you have the best all-round view when the weather is clear. The trip is really recommended with children.

There is a generously glazed restaurant in which there is a wonderful view of the Jade Bay even in cool weather.

A former lighthouse. Today it is open and for a price of 2€ you can climb to the top. The view is great. Below is a house with information about the upper fire and other towers visible.
