Bike Touring Highlight
The Liepnitzsee is really worth a trip in hot weather. It is a large, idyllic and very clean swimming lake surrounded by forest areas. It is located far north of Berlin, which is why it is not so overcrowded. The best way to get out is by S-Bahn (for example S-Bahn station Bernau) and then along nicely developed bike paths, mostly in the shade of the forest.
There is an island that can be reached by ferry (or by swimming), there is also a garden restaurant, the Insulaner Klause.

Great lake. Always super clean and clear water, also significantly cooler than other lakes, which is especially pleasant in summer. There are many small and large bathing spots along the entire bank path, the largest of which is on the west bank. You should definitely swim over to the island, if you don't want to swim, there is also a very nice ferry to the island, bicycles are taken there. On weekends in summer it gets very crowded, but it is always nice here.

Super beautiful lake, but unfortunately overcrowded on hot days because many Berliners had the same idea. In the evening a security company checks the bank where the private walkways are, so you really shouldn't lie there, because then you will be quickly scared away.
A good alternative, when it is so crowded, is “The Three Holy Puddles”, a fishing lake right next door.
