The Black Wood of Rannoch is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and nature reserve managed by Forestry and Land Scotland. It's one of the largest areas of the ancient pine forest that would have once stretched across Europe. Some of the trees here are over 400 years old. It’s home to a wide range of wildlife including red squirrels, pine marten and deer.
