The coats of arms on the boundary stones refer to the centuries-old neighborhood between the County of Hanau and the Electorate of Mainz (Oberamt Aschaffenburg). After the Napoleonic era and the German-Austrian War, this border remained unchanged here, only now it was the Kingdom of Prussia (hence the initials K P) and the Kingdom of Bavaria (hence the initials K P). Even today, the state border between Hesse and Bavaria runs here.
