The villa rises high on the hill in the center of Seeliger Park. On one side of the building are the entrances to casemate 1, which is also open to the public on guided tours, and casemate 2, which was uncovered in 2006 and leads to casemate 3. They belong to the former bastion that was located here in ducal times. The bastion was about ten meters high and stood where the villa stands today, Kertscher explains.
