The Fontaine Médicis is a monumental fountain in the Jardin du Luxembourg in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, the capital of France. It was built in 1630 by Marie de' Medici, widow of King Henry IV of France and regent for King Louis XIII of France.

The Medici fountain (La fontaine Médicis) was built in 1630 by order of Marie de' Medici.
The fountain features mythological figures such as the giant Polyphemus in bronze and Acis and Galatea in white marble.
Acis and Galatea, two lovers, are depicted intimately in a cave with Polyphemus peering jealously from above. According to Greek mythology, Polyphemos eventually killed Acis.
The mythological figures were added by Auguste Ottin.

At the back of this fountain there is another hidden fountain: the Fountain of Leda.
